This video does a great job of summarizing the key fundamentals of the one-plane swing:
Now that my backswing has started to come together, and I have a sense of how I want to be transitioning and striking the ball, I have started to look at other aspects of my swing that I could be neglecting. I normally only videotape my swing from down the line (DTL), so last night I decided to also do some face-on (FO) shots. I was shocked at what I was seeing! My entire left leg was folding like a cheap tent, causing a slight reverse pivot, and adding excess hip turn! I found another excellent video from Jeff Ritter demonstrating how quiet the lower body really should be in a one-plane swing:
Jeff Ritter, a local instructor at ASU's Karsten Golf Course (located just a few blocks from my house) has made several excellent training videos in respect to the one-plane swing taught by Jim Hardy. The following video explains some of the core fundamentals as it pertains to the one-plane swing:
After careful video analysis of my swing I have come to this conclusion: I am a one-plane swinger. Contrary to what I thought I was trying to do with the golf club, I am setup beautifully for a one-plane swing, and consistently reaching the top on that same plane. I had previously believed I was a two-planer, stuck in a one-planers setup. I now have come to realize, through the power of video-tape, that I am a one-planer with some two-plane advice seeping into my swing. Here is the video evidence, straight from V1 Home:

A few months ago (while working on my swing plane at the range) I had one of the regulars check my angles at the top. He mentioned that I had some elements of a one-plane swing, as well as some of a two-plane swing. He recommended a book, "The Plane Truth", and told me it had all the information I needed to make decisions on what I should be trying to accomplish in my golf swing. After purchasing these books, I immediately thought: WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG!
